Coping Skills We Can All Use
My name is Kat. I’ve written my stories here before. But now I am kinda proudly saying I have been SI free for a good 2-3 months.
Coping skills I use are:
- I take a cool shower when I feel like cutting. Then I put as little clothes on as possible and go into my bedroom. I lay on my bed and enjoy the cool sheets on my bed. Amazingly enough, feeling stuff that is cool (temperatur-wise) takes my mind away from the burning sensations I once cut for.
- The rubberband technique: Snap on the wrists when an urge comes.
- I talk to people I dont know about it. Like all of you online! It’s actually kinda nice to know that they don’t know you and can’t judge you.
