Lonny Shavelson

In an examination of a troubling issue, Lonny Shavelson puts a human face on the legal and ethical discussions that surround assisted suicide. By recounting the personal histories of five terminally ill people, he exposes the depth and complexity of the issue.

Final Exit  Buy from USA
Derek Humphry

'Final Exit' contains information about which are the best drugs to use in both self-deliverance and assisted suicide to escape a terminal illness at the end. They are prescription drugs because only these are reliably lethal. Such a release from terminal suffering requires careful advance planning.

Healing After the Suicide of a Loved One  Buy from USA
Ann Smolin, John Guinan, Ann Smoin

A reader writes: This book provides similar stories from other survivors of suicide, which enables the new reader to identify with the same feelings and emotions. Losing a loved one to suicide is the most gut-wrenching pain any one could ever experience, and this book addresses those feelings, emotions, and struggles that the survivors are left to face after the loss of a loved one. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who has lost a loved one to suicide.

Suicide and Attempted Suicide: Methods and Consequences  Buy from USA
Geo Stone

This book contains some of the most insightful interpretation of statistical data and superlative research in forensic pathology.

There are two sections in this book. The first section analyzes the social, psychological and biological aspect of suicide in history and at present time, in the US and all around the world. There are some powerful conclusions, such as gun ownership does not necessarily contribute to higher suicide rate, that are counter-intuitive but extremely convincing.

The second part of the book deals with various suicide methods. The tone in this section is notably different from the first part, as if it is another book by another author. Numerous forensic works are quoted here.
