I Ching

This isn’t exactly about SI; it’s about a close friend of mine, who is a lovely man, and the time when he found out I’d cut really badly, and sat and talked to me until 4am, then read my I Ching, which is what he does for himself when anything’s bothering him.

Throw the coins and turn the pages
Long-fingered hands
Smell of cigarettes and you
I sit on the floor at your odd-socked feet
you read to me about deep water
and thunder over mountains.

Throw the coins and turn the pages
Deal out the cards
Roll another cigarette to share
I hope you’ll never know how much I need you
you read to me from the neon bible
It hurts like hell to know you care.

Whisper Kiss

So you missed me too
My lover, my sister
My sweet steel
Stroke sigh
Whisper kiss
Hiss hush
Sleep.
So you couldn’t stay away
You saw the blade shine
In my eye
Stroke sigh
Whisper kiss
Hiss hush
Sleep.
So here we are again
Turn out the light
Take my hand
Stroke sigh
Whisper kiss
Hiss hush
Sleep.
