No One Special

When I Pretend

Copyright, No One Special

When I pretend, everthing is what I want it to be
I wish I’d not cry when I am lying in my bed
Beholding what I’ve forever been hiding in me

When I pretend, I let myself become you
Committing to things you’ve been pushing on to me
Taking what I hate and making it into a part of me

When I pretend, bleeding on these arms of me
Giving up a part of me
Trying to become who i ought to be
When I pretend
