Fighting

Copyright, Lindsey

I try my best every day.
I always cry when this comes my way
I don’t know where to turn or what to say.
But this is how death haunts me every day.
I fight with death and I’m almost gone.
Death is winning but I will never be done.
Fighting and losing is all I’ve ever seen.
But I am kicking and fighting with all my being.
People say that life is shit.
Well they wouldn’t say that if they knew this was it.
We fight with death every day some more than others and some lose to pain.
Most people say that death is an illusion but I’ll tell you what if you’re caught by death he sticks like a fusion reaction has busted inside you.
I guess some people fight death as much as I do
But I don’t know what I’m doing or what to say
when death rolls by he looks my way.
