The Dive

Copyright, Karen

Scarlet tears run over her arms
And are spilling onto the floor
Living life but wants to die
She couldn’t ask for more
Things that once made her happy
Now drive her to tears
And somehow this bloody knife
Drives away her fears
Every day she tries to get by
But the past eats her alive
So she picks up this dangerous blade
She’s ready to take the dive
Into the deep end, she slowly drowns
In the pool of blood that is her own
Throwing clues left and right
It’s true, you should have known
